Gordon has worked as Production Engineer, Project Manager, System Administrator for CAD and CNC programing, Project Leader for new product introductions and has extensive experience in Workstation Design and efficiency improvements with Low Cost automation devices... But actually his interest in Engineering started in his fathers home metal workshop which was setup to make working model steam engines and anything else that was required.
This metal workshop still exists largely unchanged in over 50 years and includes a Milling Machine, Metal Lathe, Welder and all sorts of handtools, Drilling and Grinding machines. Gordon's father now spends his retirement in his other workshop which is for Woodworking. There's a variety of Saw Benches, Wood Lathes, Planer, Thicknesser, large and small Bandsaws and a large collection of tree trunks and hardwood blocks ready for Turning or furniture making.
Cad Supreme Ltd carries out it's own fabrication work for small jobs but buys in all CNC precision and off the shelf components. In this way, projects both large and small may be undertaken with additional resorces bought in when required. Designers should really have a thorough understanding of the practicalities involved in actually making the designs themselves rather than creating geometry which may look nice on the screen but impossible to manufacture. 3D printing is creating new possibilities in this modern era but components still require to be designed to be manufactured by whichever process is the most suitable for the geometry.
Cad Supreme Ltd is available for small to medium 3D Design projects including Design, Manufacture and Project Management as required. Larger projects may be tackled as the role of Project Manager utilising a network of local suppliers and contacts built-up over many years working in the North East.
